What is Manual Therapy?

Manual Therapy techniques are specific techniques for the treatment of pain and other symptoms of neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunction of the spine and extremities, which are characterised by being applied manually and / or instrumental form.

The main objectives of Manual Therapy techniques are to recover movement when the joints present a restriction in it, relieve joint pain, muscle, …, and immediately improve the functionality of the individual.

Some of these techniques are:

  • ARTICULAR MANUAL THERAPY: techniques of low speed, high speed, articulatory techniques according to the Maitland Concept, McKenzie Method, Kabat,Sohier, McConnell Method,…
  • MIOFASCIAL MANUAL THERAPY: inhibition by maintained tension, massage with active movement, myofascial transverse/longitudinal sliding techniques, neurally charged slides.
  • NEURAL MANUAL THERAPY: as the techniques of neurodynamics, mobilization and stretching of peripheral nervous trunks, cranial pairs,…
  • MANUAL VISCERAL THERAPY: techniques of massage, pressure,…on the different organs and viscera to improve their functioning and to alleviate the irradiated pains caused by these structures.

My work is aimed at athletes who want to recover their best physical performance as well as help them recover from their sports injuries such as muscle injuries, tendinopathies. I also help those people who for their work or lifestyle need to improve their ergonomics or functionality.

I do a functional, neurological evaluation to then choose the best treatment for you, and I will also advise you to get the best out of your therapy with me.
